Here at Round & Round Records we stock new and secondhand records and books.
Prog, Kraut, psych, folk, experimental, noise, indie, jazz, funk, soul, exotica, easy listening, pop, rock, metal, punk, new wave, no wave, country, blues, reggae, Afro, eastern, world, soul, disco, library, hip hop, electronic... A bit of everything!
Specialising in the obscure, but we also carry a wide range of the blindingly obvious. If we like it, we carry it.
Round And Round Records has been active as a physical store since 2008. Its motto is, was and forever shall be: NO BARRIERS. Yes, we have the best selection of Krautrock, Italian prog and avant-jazz in Melbourne, but our goal has always been to cover the whole gamut of recorded sound: from million-selling popsters (yes, we do sell Taylor Swift, thank you very much) to GG Allin, from Bill Evans to Peter Brotzmann, Causa Sui and Electric Wizard to Bang and Warhorse, Red Krayola to Red Noise, Hampton Grease Band and Frank Zappa to New Order and Devo, Franco Battiato to Francis Bebey, Eddy Current Suppression Ring to AC/DC, Julia Holter and Wire to Roky Erickson and Mulatu Astatke... Get the drift?
The store is a mix of new and secondhand vinyl - 12"s, 10"s and 7"s. We even carry the occasional 5".
We have nothing against the compact disc format, but it's not what we do.
We get new shipments of local and import goods weekly, as well as new batches of secondhand goods usually on a weekly basis. If you're looking for something else, by all means let us know. If it's not in stock now and it's currently in print, then we can get it!
